Answering that question is tricky

This is a great value card that works well in black or Dimir steal decks, but I think is better as an on-curve four-drop than as your actual commander

The card is also notorious for being one of the most difficult cards to find in perfect condition because of the terrible quality control issues of the Burning Shadows set

The downsides rather outweigh the upsides of this card compared against the more efficient standard black removal cards or the other zero mana options
