19th Century Oil On Canvas - Young Girl Releasing Bird From Cage. Lighting The veneered front lifts toA charming 19th century oil on canvas depicting a young girl releasing a bird from her hand having broken it free from its golden cage, with a dog leaping to the seat and a maid peering in at the scene from the door. The work is housed in a later wood and gilt frame. The work looks to have been historically overpainted in areas (i. e. the hammer) and has some light craquelure in areas but is generally in a very good condition. An enchanting work.
