which I assume dates to the 1940s
The black painted border is structurally a frame around the sign panel

Silver Mouse Paperweight, Presumed Old Newbury Crafters for Cartier schookgirl allowing a couple of piecesI found this lovely silver mouse digging through a bin in a shop in southern Maine where I have, over time, turned up some amazing little treasures. It was quite tarnished, but I had a feeling about it, and it also felt vaguely familiar and, bottom line, what an elegant little mouse, with a bit of a mid century feeling about it.
