Carmichael", and "1984 14'" are inked on the shaft just above the keeper wrap. The rod weighs 23 ounces on my scale. Hoagy made this rod in 1984 from blanks acquired from Harold Sharpe a few years earlier, and then finished the rod out. He relayed to me that he fished this on the Grand Cascapedia and in Scotland and Ireland, so there is some very nice
