Old Folk Art Ship in a Lightbulb! modern ceramic vase with a wind-up key onI bought this one at Brimfield from a marvelous dealer whom I've bought a series of small wonders. Though a lover of ships in bottles, I myself had never seen a ship in a lightbulb before, which struck me as brilliantly resourceful and also enhancing of the sense of wonder these provoke in me at least. Of course, given the ingeniousness of folk creators, I have since turned up documentation of a few other examples, most dating to the 1940s or so, and
