Joined by tiny nails--specifically whole clusters of them where the legs meet the seat of the chairs

plenty of light scrapes and dings

and then a few brown crayon lines for the ground and a pencil scribble or good measure

I really love the white head of the one pin stuck in it too

I am not sure if this wonderful kneeling girl with long braid down her back is packing a block of snow or enraged in some other task, but this is about my favorite Inuit carving I've ever seen. My guess is that it comes from the Baker Lake region of the Kivalliq Region, in Nunavut on mainland Canada, based on stylistic similarities to other pieces I've seen, and I think it has a good amount of age.
