With what I believe are its original faceted legs painted a dark red

I just find it all quite beautiful

held together it looks to me by just a couple of nails at the top and then a few more nailed in from the underside of the base

and an incredibly constructed one in any case

38 Inch Carved and Painted Whimsy Chain with Hook and Ring Ends warbler and having once saved upA nice long one, more than three feet running, with a round loop at one end and a hook at the other, so to join. A good one for hanging, though I also like it just spilled in a pile. All carved from one piece of wood, with a coat of creamy yellow y white stain paint, I'd guess maybe 1940s or so. 38 1 2" l. Links 1" wide; 1 3 4" d ring at end. Excellent condition.
