The striking Art Nouveau pen and ink drawing on the front of this 1903 postcard feels to me very apropos for marking the beginning of 2021--not exactly bright and cheerful

I don't believe it can be removed from the cage--at least I have not been able to get it out--but it might be possible from exactly the right angle

which is very simple wood

would be stunning on a desk

With just a little effort the hand written text is all very readable, with details about the composition of each diagrammed strata at left and the location of where, in England, each was found at right. I love it formally
