My inspiration for this piece came from a visit to the famous Ballintoy harbour just as Covid lockdown was coming to an end

The original painting was inspired by a photograph taken at Whiterocks beach (permission kindly granted by my friend Colin McAlister) but this scene could be anywhere along the beautiful North Antrim coastline

View from Lansdowne, Portrush My inspiration for this pieceThis view of East Strand beach in Portrush, with the famous Whiterocks and Royal Portrush golf course in the distance, is taken from Lansdowne car park which I regularly walk through when doing one of my strolls through the seaside town. I often remark on how the sun always seems to hit the beach's sand dunes, even on the dullest of days which this one was. I wanted to capture the contrast between the dark moody sky and the golden light on the sand. I
