it should work to mark the days and months for many years to come

meaning made using only a knife--and if there were ever an object that would seem to embody the act of whittling

If this had been done in porcelain or carved in a more refined way I think it might be too cute for me, but as is I think it is exactly right! Those little front paws and oh, that little face! 3 3 4" l x 2 7 8" t x 1 1 4" w and in great condition, with a fair amount of age. A pretty perfect stocking stuffer, for sure.
