Very Sweet Antique Carved Out Box in Red Paint with Slide Lid hand-soldered I am pretty certain itI really love an old carved out wooden box. Feels so visceral and direct, not messing around with jointed corners, just digging out the inside. And this old one with a sweet little carved knob at the end of the sliding lid. Could be that the unpainted pine lid replaced an earlier one, but if so has been with it for a very long time, lovingly done and perfectly fitting. Perhaps made to hold slate pencils, but good for whatever little odds and ends now,
