The rod was built for Hazel Johnson by Paul Young in 1950 and is not serial numbered. Hazel Johnson tied flies for the Paul H. Young Rod Co. for ~ 30 years (and also performed the role of babysitter for Paul Jr. and Jack!) Hazel's son also told me that the great Ted Williams would come in the PHY Rod Co. shop and watch Hazel tie flies. This rod came directly from the Johnson family. Mr. Young
