housed in this old frame with fantastic warm patina that makes the whole thing feel marvelously warm and cozy

but a rare and lovely and special feeling thing

The wood itself has flex to it

The box itself was carved from one piece of wood carefully hollowed out my favorite sort. And this this perfectly fitting, smoothly sliding lid, with diamond extending at one end just above the finger pull recess, and beautiful, to my eye rather Arts and Crafts feeling carved in details. 19th century American I believe, and just perfect. 6 3 8" x 2" x 1 5 8" t. Beautiful condition, beautiful patina, lid fits
